Puerto Obaldia Route between Panama and Colombia

I am planning a trip with my boyfriend and am interested in taking the Puerto Obaldia boat route between Panama and Colombia. Namely, flying to Pueto Obaldia, taking a boat to Capurgana, taking another boat to Turbo and then busing from Turbo to Monteria. I was wondering whether anyone has done this trip recently and whether it is still possible/advisable! I'm looking for a bit more adventure than the regular sail or plane trips, but a little less than hiking the Darian Gap! Thanks for your input!
