Hello! I will be spending a weekend in Palm Spring in the middle of February. Can anyone please recommend any good hikes in the area? Thank you in advance!
Take the Tram to the top. It will be chilly and snowy but some great hikes. Get off before dark as it will be very cold at night.

I have not been there in winter but can imagine that there is a lot of snow in the higher reaches of San Jacinto Mountain. I have seen that they hire snow shoes, this would perhaps be an exciting option. You might also want to have a look at hiking at nearby Joshua Tree National Park.

I know Palm Springs fairly well, but never hiked there. The Tram is really not hiking, but it is fun though....d:o) However there is some information readily available...... vacationpalmsprings.com/palm... http://www.palmspringshiking.com/ trails.com/tcatalog_trail.as... go-california.com/Palm-Sprin... igougo.com/attractions-l648-... http://www.hiking-in-ps.com/trails.php

Erik, I have to agree with Griff on this one. You take the PS Tram to get to the top. Once up there, there are trails. Winter has snow shoe hikes at the top of the mountain in some great snow and Summer has the hiking boots dirt trails. There is also a great restaurant at the top, Peaks Restaurant (fine dining) has a great view of the desert below. Pines Restaurant (casual dining) and the Lookout Lounge, a full cocktail bar. For the warmer climes on the desert floor, Indian Canyons has many trails and beautiful surroundings. See the Indian Canyon website: hiking-in-ps.com/indiancanyo...

Yup, I stand corrected onj that one. Forgot the trails from up top. Not really my forte, so was not really thinking clearly. Thanks for clearing up what might have come across as conflicting information to the Original Poster....d:o)
