Hi we need to change hotels from Anacapri to Ravello this July and wondering what the best way to go about getting from A to B would be. May want to stop in Positano to look around if there is someplace to stash our luggage for a few hours like a locker or willing hotel porter service. We'd rather not spend an arm and a leg on private cars, at least for most of the trip, but we also don't want to go crazy with packed-in sweaty public transport either. Any advice?
Hi! We are a family of four who will travel from Perugia to the Amalfi Coast, but we plan to quickly visit Naples and Pompei. We will be travelling by car at this point. Any recommendations on where to stay? In Naples, closeby?? In large cities, I prefer taking public transportation, so a hotel or apartment close to bus or metro stops would be interesting for us. Thanks!
Hi all, my husband and I are planning a trip to Sorrento in mid-end July. Coming from Ireland neither of us are used to the heat and I have been told in the past that the temperatures can become unbearable. Can any of you give me some advice on this?? We are hoping to do a lot of touring to the many attractions nearly and I am wondering will it be a wasted trip and will I end up staying indoors for the whole time we are there!!
If anyone has been to Sorrento at this time of year and can tell me the temperatures they had while there and whether it is a dry heat. Surely being by the coast there would be a breeze??
Hi! I need to decide whether to depend on public transportation only or to rent a car. Should we take a car or train/bus will do to travel around Naples and in the Amalfi coast?
i wanted to organize a special day for me and my boyfriend by going to Positano for a day (next Saturday) would it be possible to go and come back the same day? is it doable? and what is the best way to go? i am a bit hesitant as it takes so much time to reach there. Thank you for your help.
I am planning to make a 1 day trip Pompeii+Vesuvius in August. We will go by car and we plan to start rather early, at 8 a.m. I remember that it was very hot in Pompeii when I was there last time. On the one hand going up Vesuvius also can be hot, but on the other it is a little bit colder up there. So the question is ; what should I start with Pompeii or Vesuvius?
May be there is something else that I should take into account? May be crouds of other tourists coming by bus-excursions? Where they are more likely and at what time?
My husband and I are visiting Sorrento in July for our 10th wedding anniversary. We only have 3 days there and want to visit Capri, Amalfi coast - possibly Ravello, and either Pompeii or Herculaneum.
Can someone give me some advice on how best to plan our trip. I was also considering a sururpirse boat trip - any suggestions??
We are staying at the Hotel Continental.
I am contemplating a family holidy in Italy, but I must admit that I am not too keen on the traditional Italian "Lido" style of beach ie. rows of umbrellas. Is the beach at Palinuro covered in sunbeds and umbrellas, or is it more natural? And how busy does it get in high season? Also, is the sand dark or light in colour? Can anyone recommend any other nice beach towns in the vicinity?
