We want to stay 10 days in Ischia with 3 children (1, 4 and 8 years)
Is the island also nice for familys? We love small towns and nice beaches. (no big attractions needed) We stayed also once in Skopelos. Maybe this is similair?
Second options is 10 days near Sorrento. But i am afraid its too bussy in juli? We want to see ravello, Postiano and Capri by car.
At the exist of the pompeii excavations there is an eating area opposite with several specialty shops. One of the shops sold a small statue of the dancing faun which I was sorry I did not buy at the time. I would now like to try and get this as it was actually made in Italy - could anyone assist me on how to find the name of the shop?
I will be in Rome for 1 day only on a cruise ship. How far from Rome is the sea Port? I have been told the port is about an hour from Rome but I am not sure. I would really like to see Pompeii and wondered if it would be possible to hire a car/guide for the day. At this stage I understand the ship will be in port from 7am till 7pm. The people I am travelling with have been to Rome before, but by plane and we would like to know if we do no other sightseeing except Pompeii would it be possible in that timeframe, Thanks for any information
I am contemplating a family holidy in Italy, but I must admit that I am not too keen on the traditional Italian "Lido" style of beach ie. rows of umbrellas. Is the beach at Palinuro covered in sunbeds and umbrellas, or is it more natural? And how busy does it get in high season? Also, is the sand dark or light in colour? Can anyone recommend any other nice beach towns in the vicinity?
