Palermo to selinunte

by Mary-JaneB Online Now Mar 10, 2013 at 2:01 PM

I am planning on a trip to selinunte in April and will probably travel on a Sunday. I am trying to avoid costly transfer. Will there be a bus or train I could catch

Selinute does not have a railway station but you can take the train to Castelvetrano, which is the nearest (trains run on Sundays, although there are few of them). Train times, details and fares (7.65 euro) in English on:

Journey time is around 2.5 hours.

Unfortunately there are few buses from Castelvetrano on Sundays ('festiva'):

But perhaps train + a taxi from Castelvetrano would be less expensive than a transfer from Palermo?

you'd better avoid trains, take a bus to Campobello di Mazara

in case there will not buses you'll be anyway much closer, less than 10kms 15 minutes and it won't cost a lot by taxi
