(1) Have you experienced or seen any security issues in the city?

(2) Have you had any problems being foreigners in the city?

(3) Is there a cheap hostel for travelers in Islamabad?

(4) Do you know any place offering short-term furnished rentals in the city?

I have never visited the Northern Areas of Pakistan. But i wana to visit these areas in August 2013. Would any one guide me about the weather of kaghan and Naran in the mentoined month. Which hotel is suitable for Budjet Travellers.. plz also guide me abut necessary things to take with me as M going for the first time.Would really appreciate if you people could be kind enough to guide me.

my friend and his family is planing a trip to naran in august (next day of EID).what is the weathers condition in august.is it better plan.they want to go saif ul maluk,lalazar,lulusar and shogran.

Hi Guys I am planning a trip to Naran, Kaghan etc from Lahore in mid augest. We are of 5 friends. I have no idea how to get from Islamabad onwards. I was hoping the experts here help me plan this trip and recommend places to visit and stay. We plan to do 5 - 6 days trip. I would appreciate your help choosing the best sight seeing that we can do in these days. I have seen pictures of Naran, Kaghan, Shogran, Saif Ul Malook etc but I have no idea how geographically dispersed these are from each other and even if it makes sense to do all these in one trip. Your help figuring this out would be highly appreciated. Note that we have never done this before and probably never will after this trip. So we want to hit the maximum spots possible. Hi fellow travelers, I am planning to visit Naran from 13th June - 17th June with my family, ie wife and 2 kids (12 & 8 yr olds) and maybe with my younger bro. My queries are as follows:
1: Can Civic be taken to Naran without ruining the car because of the roads?
2: What are the usual avg. good rates for top hotels in Naran in June, with 3 bed accommodation?
3: Which are the top 4 hotels in Naran in terms of cleanliness, clean beds and good food?
4: Should I book in advance or go there and get the room?
5: what are the rates for jeep inclusive of diesel to Saif ul maluk and other places?
6: How long would it take from a) Abbotabad to Balakot
b) Balakot to Naran
Would really appreciate if you people could be kind enough to guide me as I am going there for the first time and would have family with me so I would want to avoid any bad hotels or unruly crowds etc.

I am planning to got to chitral from mardan on CULTUS 1000cc with family; lowari tunnel is closed; can I go through lowari top on this car; would it be safe? i mean without damaging car or other God-forbid damage; frequent traveler may guide me through; i have booked some rest-houses in chitral; planning journey on June 17; pl. help and guide/advise.

I'm planning to cross border from China to Karimabad, Pakistan and back to China. But I've made some research and found I have to pass Khunjerab pass which is 4600m high (might be high altitude sickness), terrifying roads, occasional road closing due to landslides, boats which might stop due to rain and wind... I'm thinking that it'll be so tough for me...But is it actually easier than I think? I'm kind of chicken guy but Shouldn't I mind and just go?

I needed some guidence regarding the expense? and the way(directions)? of travel. I mean how can we reach these two points we are taking a toyota hiace with us can it go there? or we will have to book a jeep for that? or any hiking(by foot) is needed? We have been to Saif-ul-muluk, how far from there are these two places in kilometers? Please answer before 15-june as we are planning to leave on 20-june-2013. We will be leaving from Islamabad. I am planning a trip from Karachi to Murree and Naran between 13/14 Aug to 21/22 August. I am with my wife and 2 kids of 3 and 8 years. Plan is to take flight from Karachi to Islamabad. The rest of the plan is not clear as I have just started researching. Could someone please advise on (a) what are the places / areas we should include in our tour for sightseeing with kids, (b) suggested route and transportation options / costs from Islamabd to all destinations, © is it best to book hotels in advance or upon arrival, and what are the expected per night hotel rates at these places for an average hotel / apartment and any suggestion of hotels, and how much approximate budget is enough for the period.
