How many days do you suggest in RMNP? 2 full days or 3?

Hi, just wondered if anyone had any advice please? Visiting the Rocky Mountain National Park in August and just wondered where the best place to stay would be? Boulder, Longmont, Estes Park or Loveland? We will be heading north after RMNP to Mount Rushmore, therefore wondering whether Loveland would be best as it would shorten our travel time north, whilst still being a gateway to RMNP city. Plus Boulder seems to be booked up :( Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I'm living in Santa fe and I want to go to pagosa springs(probably the springs resort). but I don't want to take a plane because it's expensive. I prefer riding a bus or something like that... but I'm not sure which transportation I can use.
Would anyone where's the nearest tubing park in the Pagosa Springs area? We planned a vacation in December and would like to plan our activities.
Has anyone cycled from Pagosa to Silverton? Please tell me about your experience.
