Hello - We are going to be visiting the Venice area for 2 days in late March, driving in from Munich and driving back via Salzburg. Our current plan is to stay at the Sheraton Padova and drive into Venice for the day however I wanted to get some perspective from past visitors and locals. It seemed like a good way to see Venice but also enjoy the flavor of a less touristy Italian village. Is this a reasonable approach or are we better off staying in Venice?
If one purchaces these on line can we have them delivered to our hotel or does one have to go to a tourist office to collect. We are arriving on a Sunday afternoon and it seems that none of the offices are open then and we want to start using the transport Sunday evening and early on Monday morning

I am looking for a decent place to stay, without spending too much, and am not sure what area around Venice would be good. All of the accomodations in Venice are sold out and I have 6 people to find rooms for. We are coming in 3 days early for a cruise on June 3rd. The Sheraton in Padova has a good rate but I'm not sure how much effort it will take to get there from the VCE airport and then into Venice. Does anybody have advice on a hotel/b&b or even which town to stay in? Hotel rooms are also available in Mestre. I can use ANY HELP I can get!!! Thanks!

Hi, Are there any buses which commute between Padova and Rome? We would prefer it they were late evening or overnight type as long as we reach Rome by 6 AM. Thanks
Does anybody know if there are buses from/to Verona Airport to/from Padova/Vicenza? Thanks.
I am planning to base myself in Padova for 6-8 weeks (late April through May) and was hoping to find a longer-term apartment or similar type rental and am wondering where to look as English touristy sites seem to advertise places that are both too large and too expensive. I just need a small studio apartment with minimal cooking facilities, but hopefully a washing machine and internet connection. I'll have no car, so also need to be within 20 minute walk or bus ride from the train station. And I'd like to keep it to500 euros or less/month with gas, electric, etc. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
We will be in northern Italy for a week in February and are considering making Padova our home base. Searching for moderately priced hotels and restaurants. Many thanks, Bill

Hi, I am landing off on july, 20-th on Treviso Airport in Venice and I'd like to ask how I can get to Padova-by bus, by train, what would be the cheapest way, where should I take a train from, or a bus, how long will it take?is there anything like a return ticket by bus, how much would it cost me, because I'm have another flight on july, 21-st from the same airport!thank you in advance.
Hi, I will be in Padova/Italy between April 19 and June 25 for the Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics. Do you know a cheap but nice place which I can stay with my 10 years old daughter? I may share an appartment too. The size of the place should be at least 27 m2. Thanks in advance for the information.
The highlight of my upcoming trip to Italy will be the chance to finally visit the Cappella degli Scrovegni. I was horrified to find I can only get a 15 minute appointment. Gah! I need more time than that. I made the appointment of course, but I wondering if anyone knows a way I could stay longer. I read in the Rick Steves guide book that it's possible to get 20 minute appointments in the evening, but that's also tragically short. Has anyone had luck getting past 20 minutes? Could I write a letter or something?
I will be in Italy in the last week of September/first week October. I will be staying near Desenzano, but have checked the Trenitalia website, and reckon that the 10:13am express train to Venice could get me to Padova in just over an hour. My questions: I have been to the official Scrovegni(Arena) Chapel website, which seems to recommend pre-booking admission. But if I want to 'take things as they come' on holiday and not be committed to a strict timetable and spending money 'up front', 1) what are the chances of booking admission on the internet the day before I travel? or 2)getting in to the chapel after just turning up? 3) Are there any times of the day when its easier to get in? 4) Generally, how busy would the chapel be on, for example 2nd October? (or is it busy all year round?). I can speak and understand Italian (and French and German)? Is it any easier to get in if you book yourself in to a non-English-speaking group? (This does actually happen at tourist sites in other parts of Europe) Hoping someone can help...
