I wanted to know the name/names of quarries in the Ouro Preto where soapstone os quarried.

Soapstone/steatite are found in many places in Brazil. However near Ouro Preto city steatite is mined around Mata dos Palmitos/Santa Rita de Ouro Preto, Cachoeira do Campo,... and stone-pits are found in Bandeiras, Boa Vista, Maciel, Catas Altas and Ouro Branco. Most of steatite craftwork are sold in Feira da Pedra-Sabão de Ouro Preto.
