I am going to visit Aushwitz and I am staying at the Przystań nad Sołą Mostowa 17 Bielany k. Oświęcimia Małopolskie I am flying into Katowice Airport on Friday 23 June 2006 and i would like to know how to get to the hotel Does anyone know what number Bus or train to get and how much thaking you in advance
I couldn't find any direct bus or train to Bielany, so what I would do is: 1) get from the Pyrzowice airport to the centre of Katowice by bus (check the timetable: gtl.com.pl/eng/index.html?pa.... It takes about 40-50 minutes and costs about 20 zl. 2) get to Oswiecim (Auschwitz) form Katowice by train. The Katowice train station is next to the place where bus from the airpost stops (the big promenade leads to it). The timetable check here: rozklad.pkp.pl/bin/query.exe... You will have 0 or 1 change, depends on the train you will choose. It takes between 1 and 2 hours and costs 6-15 zl, depending on a train. 3) take a taxi from Oswiecim to Bielany. It's just 11 km, it can't be expensive. Good luck! Ania

Take the bus to Central Katowice, as per Ania. Then: KATOWICE - BIELANY SKRZ. via OSWIECIM From PKS TIMETABLE: 10:00 -11:05 Fast Bus to Policzne change to 12:30 -12:55 weekdays bus to Wadowice 16:00 -17:05 Fast Bus to Sucha Beskidzka change to 17:10 -17:35 daily bus to Wadowice 19:30- 20:35 Fast Bus to Sucha Beskidzka change to 21:15 -21:40 daily bus to Wadowice itoswiecim.republika.pl/pl/k... There are many private buses Katowice-Oswiecim and Oswiecim Osiedle-Bilany-Kety Go to the URL given and set up a connection. Oswiecim Osiedle bus stop is at the train station.
