We shall be flying into Oslo with SAS from Tromso arriving 1205 and transferring onto a BA flight to London.
The BA flight time was originally 1515, but it has been changed to 1435.
Is 2hrs 30 mins sufficient time for the transfer?

      Traveling Norway. Seeking for company.

by Artems_6 Online Now Jan 15, 2013 at 1:56 AM

Hey there, My name is Kyra and I'm from Belgium. I'm searching for a person who wants to visit Norway with me. The country has always fascinated me, first with the mythes (I love fairytales) and then with it's beautiful nature. I really want to visit Oslo, but I know that that is not the place to be if you want to see nature. So maybe I also want to explore the rest of the country. I also don't know for how long I want stay there, it also depends on the company I'm with. So if you are adventurous and not afraid of cold weather, let me know something and we can talk about it more.

      Contacting small gift shops.

by MinhL Online Now Jan 14, 2013 at 7:08 AM

I visited Norway a year ago and purchased these adorable little troll dolls www3.telus.net/public/a6a911... I lost them and want to buy new ones but can't seem to find them online. I think the only place where they're sold are at the small gift shops (that cater to tourists), like this one pgoh13.com/oslo/oslo_store.j... My problem is, I have no way of contacting these little gift shops (as none of them have any online website). I tried contacting the larger retail stores, but none of them carry this particular troll. So I have a request, can someone in Norway get me the contact information for a small gift shop like the one pictured here. pgoh13.com/oslo/oslo_store.j... I'd like to email them to ask them if they carry the troll doll that I'm looking for. Thank you, Minh

by italmelb Online Now Jun 3, 2012 at 5:02 AM

Hello All I might be visiting Oslo in December as part of my round the world trip. Since there is no possibility of doing day trips from Oslo with tours companies in the middle of winter, do you think 2 days would be enough to spend there? (Arrive on 23rd of December and leave on 25th of December - so that would give me an entire full day to explore the city on the 24th) Also what could I do while I am there? Thanks

Is there such a thing as accommodation in Oslo where a double room would cost 100USD or less. Apperantly, there is an organisation at the city hall and at the train station that books rooms in private houses but it should be done on the day of arriaval and it is not immideately clear how much these rooms would cost. Does anybody have any idea? Have you used this service? Thanks for the insights.

by jsegel91 Online Now Sep 25, 2011 at 12:30 PM

On our trip to Europe this summer we stayed for a week in Oslo, (yes, the SAME week of the bombings and the tragic killings in Utoya. We were on Bgdoy peninsula during the bombing though.) I have a few images of this magnificent building but even with the aid of street signs I cannot find it on Google Earth. (trying to retrace our amazing trip.) Can anyone help me out here, or at least point in the right direction? I think it was near the palace, or maybe Vigeland Park. tinypic.com/view.php?pic=sc6...

    • Looking for a great place to live in Oslo

by Simone1973 Online Now Sep 20, 2011 at 9:33 AM

My friend has recently moved to Oslo and is living in an area which is great during the day but a nightmare during the evening. The restaurants turn into night clubs and the noise goes on constantly all night. His apartment is near the harbor near Aker Brygge. It's hard to decide what would be a great area to live if you don't know the city really well. What would be the best way to go about it and find a new place to live. How do you know if the found the right area that suits your wish list. Is there a good internet site with apartments for rent? Some wishes: green (park) nearby, quite area during evening or night, not family or children area, 2 bedrooms and with balcony. Could anybody give some tips and tricks? All help is welcome.

HELP!!! Train reservation for Oslo to Mydral

by yabadoba Online Now Aug 29, 2011 at 12:18 AM

Hi there! I will be using my eurail pass to travel the Norway in a Nutshell route. I read that a reservation is quite essential for the Oslo to Mydral part of the trip during summer peak. My question is, if I am travelling on 20th September 2011, is it still advisable for me to make a reservation in advance for Oslo to Mydral train trip? Or can I just safely make a reservation the day before when I reach Oslo and still get a seat? Is there any way that I can make the reservation online? Or else, is there any email which I can wrtite to NSB to make a reservation? Regards, Yabadoba

Hello, First time in Oslo as an adult. I've already seen the extra hoops we'll have to jump thru with Ryanair...is that airport an hour away by the bus? We plan to go to the statue park, viking museum, see the Munch painting (I know..it's a copy, right?), eat shrimp on the dock (look for intact antenna)...been told to stay away from...oh, what is it called? Where you can see how the early settlers lived like a living museum? Also, if it isn't recommended to buy the wool sweaters/jumpers...where should we look to get items made IN Norway? Does the price not always reflect that I was wondering? If we are staying for 5 days...do most spring for the Oslo Pass but only get them for a day or two possibly and maximize those museums those days...and then walk to the rest of the places you'd like to see the other days? Is a day trip to Bergen something to do or is that too ambitious? Sorry for all the questions...of course we want to see and experience as much as we can and are thankful we have more than a few days! Thanks for any insight you can offer! Rachel

We meanwhile all left highschool and we use this weekends to meet all together and have some party together - like in the old days... This year we are planning to go to Oslo in September - however we don´t know, if the nightlife is good at Oslo? Could you recommend the nightlife in general at Olso (or should we go to a different city)? Any places / areas you can recommend especially in Oslo? Thx in advance for your feedback Carsten PS: we are all male, around 30 and like party places (but not techno - parties)
