hi. i will be travelling to Osaka this coming 18th to 22nd of January. This will be my first time to visit the place. How's the weather out there? what should i wear? should i wear thick clothes/thermal jackets? thanks.
Tomorrow's forecast is for a high of 8 degrees (celsius) and a low of 3. Could be a bit colder by the time you arrive, but then again it may not be. So dress warmly, but there are far colder places on this earth.

As mentioned, high of 10, low of 3. Expect it to be mainly sunny and probably dry. The wind is probably the worst part, but I haven't been to Osaka in the winter. You can check the following link for the 7 day forecast before you go. http://www.jma.go.jp/en/week/331.html

I got through the coldest part of winter comfortably (in the Nagoya area, only about an hour northeast of Osaka) wearing a fleece jacket from REI over medium weight turtlenecks, with jeans or corduroys, lightweight thermals, knit gloves and hat. Hope this helps!

I used to live in Osaka. When I was there, I thought we had a touch winter, but now that I'm used to the colder winter weather in Connecticut, I don't need a heavy coat when I go back there. Not sure where you live, but refer to the temperature range mentioned above, and prepare accordingly.

This weekend, rain is forecast. This probably means a few isolated showers. It doesn't rain much here and when it does it's usually over after an hour, allowing you to move on. Temperatures are looking to be around 12 in the daytime. This can feel quite warm unless the wind is blowing. You should be prepared for cold wind - windproof jacket, scarf, gloves are handy, and even a hat if you plan to spend a lot of time out of doors. It isn't any where near freezing, but if you aren't prepared it can be uncomfortable to be out of doors.
