Whenever I visited Tokyo, I never missed to dine at the cheap Tempura outlets - Tenya . I will be visiting Osaka first time and would like to find out if there are Tenya outlets in Osaka. If there aren't any can someone let me know if there are similar restaurant chain that offer Tempura meals at about same price as those offered by Tenya?
I took a look on Tenya's website and it doesn't appear that they have any outlets in Osaka. I'm not sure if there are other places that sell tempura for such a cheap price but the department stores will have tempura shops, just at a somewhat high price. Probably about 1000-1500 per meal. You can always go to other places for lower quality tendon for about 500 yen per bowl but not sure of Osaka.

As dru46 said, there is no Tenya chain in Osaka unfortunately.. they are more based on Tokyo or only Kanto area. But if you are visiting Osaka, I would reccomend you to try some Kushikatsu restaurants. Shinsekai is especially famous for Kushikatsu. It is not really like Tempura, but because Osaka has another deep-fried dish culture I hope you will enjoy it too:) The restaurant 'Daruma' is quite famous there.
