weather/temp in april, and suitable cold weather wear?

Hi, would like to find out what is the average weather and temp of Osaka in wns April? Also, how thick cold weather wear would i need? is it better to layer in case of frequent weather/temp changes? is a leather jacket, with a thin sweater inside enough, or a denim jacket with a thin sweater is more appropriate? or do i need woollen sweaters?
