I have a family holiday booked to stay partly at The Hard Rock Hotel this summer, but am aware that food/ drinks are pricey there. Are there any good restaurants near here ( preferably in walking distance) that we could go to instead? Thanks
I have been to Finnegan's Bar and Grill , a year ago. It was a good restaurant and has quite reasonable rates.

Your option within the Universal Studios resort complex and within walking / resort boat shuttle distance from all 3 Universal Resorts (Hard Rock, Portofino, Royal Pacific) is the Universal CityWalk area. It's an area with restaurants, shops, & entertainment. Food options here are generally cheaper than within the hotel resort itself. Here I like to eat at Margaritaville's patio area; lots of time they have music entertainment on the patio late afternoon / early evening.

For outside the Universal complex, long walk / short cab ride your best bet is on Kirkman Road where there are alot of chain restaurants like Miller's Ale House.

For more mid- to upscale dining, "Restaurant Row" in the Dr Phillips area, within 2 miles southwest of Universal. On west Sand Lake Road between I-4 and Rt 435 (Apopka Vineland). Not walkable so need taxi / car. The hotel concierge should be able to give the best way to get there.
