do you think ostend is a good place to have a girlie wk end for a birthday or would you recomend somewhere else in belgium
Certainly Oostende can provide you with a lively time. Alternatives would be Gent and Antwerp, both with a bit more of a city vibe and a bit more, ahem, style. Oostende is OK though - see what others think. D

Quite possibly! I have always had a great time in the evenings I've spent in Bruges, but as I'm now a middle aged suburban matron, whgat would I know about nightlife??? ;)

I would recommend Ghent. Ghent is a universitycity, so there are more 'younger' people and the nightlife has more variety than Ostend. Have a nice time in Belgium. peter
