Plannig to travel from Fethiye to Olympos to see the flame. Can I know what is the traveling time from Fethiye and how can i reach chimeara from town. any good accommadations in that area.
Well it was a few years ago, but as I remember it you have to go via Kas and there a bus that drops you off at the top of the hill. From there a number of different group taxis go down to the different hostels, so you have to know which one you want in advance. BTW - We were assured that the climb up to the Chimaera was about 20 minutes. HA! It is a tough climb up hundreds of steps. It took 40 minutes to get to the top. The sight of the natural and unexplained flames, which have been burning for thousands of years made it worth the effort. The climb is of course made at night to get the full impact of the Chimaera.
