Hi, I'm moving to Olympia with my family (2 young boys) and just wondering if anyone has a favorite area to live in Olympia. I am coming in a few weeks to look at places, but I don't really know the area. What area is best for kids? What area should I stay clear of? Any suggestions are really appreciated.
I've been thinking about moving there myself..tacoma Fort Lewisa area. A friend of mine told me to think about living in Lacey or Olympia. Stay away from Tacoma. She said alot of bad elements live there. Take a look at the craig list for Olympia/Lacey areas. They have some great new housing developments and the neighborshoods are great for kids.

Lacey is kind of gross. The neighborhood just east of downtown Olympia is the best. Familiarly known as the "Eastside". Clever, eh? Near one of the best elementary schools in the area (Lincoln). I'll give you the grand tour of Olympia if you like. Send me an e-mail sometime! Patrick
