      2. How long would it take to walk there?

      3. How much would it cost to take a motorcycle taxi there?

      4. Are there bars or clubs in Station 3, or mostly just in Station 2?

      5. What is the crowd in Station 3 like?

      Thank you in advance.

      Hello everybody,

I live in Manila and I am planning a trip to Germany very soon. I have checked out the different ways to fly there and I wanted to ask for advice/opinions of people who have already experienced flying with the airlines that I'm deciding between.

I am deciding between Etihad, Lufthansa and KLM,

could you share your experiences with me (good and bad) and if it was worth is for what you paid??

      Thank you!

    • Manila hotels (prior to arrival in Boracay)

Boracay Island May 6, 2015 at 7:48 PM

Can anyone suggest a good hotel ($20 - $60 US per night) in the Manila International Airport area? Someplace that is close to a bar (maybe with westerners)?

I will be arriving to Manila at 4:20 pm, and the flights from Manila to Caticlan are unavailable later that evening, so I will have to spend one night in Manila until my flight to Caticlan the next morning.

      I appreciate your replies.

    • Visitors and Expats in Boracay during the months of June and July 2015

Boracay Island May 1, 2015 at 3:42 PM

Will there be many westerners during these months?

What is the approximate estimates of westerners visiting during that time of the year? Are they mostly Australian or European, or are there Americans and Canadians, too?

The reason I ask is because I was in Mexico last year and the number of westerners was really minimal, so there was no one who I could really talk to due to the language barrier. I understand that many people in the Philippines speak English very well, but I would like to meet some westerners while there, too.

      Thank you.

Philippine immigration officers/airlines about one way ticket

      Philippine May 18, 2015 at 5:13 AM

I am going to Vietnam next month and plan to book a one way ticket since it is not really an issue in Vietnam airport. I will have 3 months single entry tourist visa. The question is, will the airlines or immigration officer here in Manila airport ask me about my return ticket? I am not a first time traveler; I've been to different parts in Asia and New Zealand but I don't remember if the IO asked for my return ticket (hehe). I am actually confused. Expats in Vietnam are telling me that's its alright to book one way ticket. No one asked them about their return flight when they go there but of course it's case by case. One of them told me that they booked a return flight but it was put to waste. Can any Filipino answer me or any knowledgeable citizen out there? :) I plan to extend my stay OR I might go to New Zealand from Vietnam(I will apply working visa in NZ Embassy in Vietnam). Any thoughts? Should I just buy round trip ticket instead? I'm thinking its a waste of money but I don't know. Thank you everyone!

    • What to do on the Island of Cebu

Cebu Island May 2, 2015 at 4:19 PM

Hi all, Im travelling with myself and two friends to Cebu in late June and was wondering which area/areas of Cebu are worthwhile visiting. We will fly in around mid day and i was thinking we will have either 3 or 4 nights on the island before moving on to Boracay. I have looked into Moalboal a little and this seems interesting for the canyoning, waterfall trips. I think these are the type of activities we would enjoy most and maybe a night out in Cebu City? Do you suggest we stay 3 nights and spend more time in Boracay, would that be more worthwhile?

      Thanks in advance!

    • Seeking a 12 month or longer rental of a 1BD House/APT/Duplex in Olongapo City/Subic Bay

by phpeters87 Online Now Aug 24, 2010 at 1:14 PM

I'm an American ExPat in his early 60's and retired.

I am not "rich Kano" but I would like to relocate to the RP, in particular, Subic/OC as it is far too expensive to live anywhere in the US on my modest Pension.
I have made several trips to Subic and OC and I love it there and want to make it my home for the rest of my life.

I'm seeking a SECURE, 1BD, 1 CR, with flushable toilet, and basic furnishings such as a bed, couch, rice cooker, TV, etc...
      I would also require AirCon.
Hot water would be nice, but not necessary.
Internet access via DSL or faster is a desirable.

It could be a small house, an apt, a duplex, etc...except for a Nipa Hut or a share rental.(Bedspace, etc...)

I will be living there alone, unless I end up married to one of the many beautiful Filipina's I always see when I visit the the RP islands.

Depending on the area and the condition of the rental, my price range for the rental is between 7,000PhP - 11,250PhP per month, 12 Month Minimum, to be paid monthly by the 3rd of each month.
I will also pay a reasonable cleaning deposit and the last month's rent in advance.

I am seeking something fairly quiet, but close to downtown OC or preferably, Barrio Barreto near The National Highway in Subic
Last time I was in Subic (2008) there was a lot of new home Construction/Subdivisions and Apts. being built.

Pictures and details along with the address of the rental can be emailed to howardhuge@hushmail.com

I have many ExPAt friends in Subic/Olongapo that can drive to the rental and, with your permission, take a look at it for me as I currently reside in the US but will re-locate to the RP as soon as suitable housing is obtained.

Please keep in mind that I am very neat and clean and will have a lady come in and help me clean 2-3x per week, as well as have a lady come in and cook 2-3x per week, and I'm also very quiet.

I am also very responsible, easy to get along with, and a model tenant.
You will wish all of your renter's were like me.

A parking space is not required, as I will travel via Trikes and Cabs and Walk for many of my outdoor activities, depending on where I will live.

AirCon, Cleanliness, Fairly Quiet, Secure and Accessible to "town" are the most important elements in my search.

      Much thanks and "Mabuhay!"
      Peter
