We will be arriving at Hannover Airport next month and would like to know the cost of a taxi to take us to Oldenburg (OLDB). We will also need the return journey by taxi to the airport 6 days later. We would normally hire a car for this journey but as we will not need to use it at any other time during our stay in Oldenburg, we are wondering if a return taxi fare would be cheaper?
That's more than 150 km each way and a taxi will cost a fortune. Why don't you take the train? I had a quick look and for August there are still some specials available for 29 Euro a person each way. Look at www.bahn.de to find out more.

As Christine said. A taxi for such a distance will cost you an arm and a leg, and not every taxi driver will agree to do such a long ride. The train is the way people travel without cars in this country.

If it is okay for you to only use reginal trains, you could also opt for the Niedersachsen-Ticket. Some restrictions apply, however, so perhaps check the conditions here: bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/price... under "Bremen, Niedersachsen (Lower-Saxony)"

The simplest train route seems to be airport to main station (Hauptbahnhof) then a direct train to Oldenburg. Bahn.de will let you see the details.

There good train connections to Oldenburg. DB timetable reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu... Start: Hannover Flughafen Destination: Oldenburg(Oldb) On a Niedersachsen-Ticket only EUR 25 for 2 persons. Select as means of transport "only local transport" for this. gvh.de/niedersachsenticket.h... If you use a taxi or a transfer company you may be able to negotiate the price. This is beyond the area the taxi tariff is binding. Don't think you'll get a much better quote for a return trip. The car/driver will have to return empty to the start point on both days. http://www.german-transfer.de/
