I will be flying from the USA to Tokyo. I would like to take a Ferry in to Okonawa. Is this possible?? Thanks!!
It is very possible to take a ferry to Okinawa, but expect at least 3 days if you are travelling from Tokyo. 2 if you travel to Osaka first. 1. Take a ferry from Tokyo to Kita-Kyushu. You then have to take a train somewhere in Kyushu. I think Kagoshima is where you can get the next one. It takes 2 nights to get to Kyushu, the day to get to Kagoshima, and probably if you can make it to the ferry on the same day, one more night to Okinawa (Main island). 2. Take a train to Osaka, or alternatively Kobe, and take a direct ferry to Okinawa. I believe it takes one night. I'm not 100% on this as it's been a while since I researched this myself, but it is possible.

It's possible, but it takes longer and is more expensive than flying. It's a pleasure cruise as opposed to quick convenient transportation.
