How far is it from the center - the statue od St. Cyril and Metodii to Biljanini izvori? Is it a long walk? Google maps give me about 2 km. but I want to ask someone who lives there or has alredy been there? Thank you!

Hi, in beginning of June I'm planning to go Ohrid-Pogradec-Brajcino. Hence have a couple of questions:
is there a bus from Orhid to Sv Naum border crossing? and how frequent/reliable it is?
would it be easy to find budget accommodation in Pogradec/Tushemisht? Staying in a private house is ideal.
Are there any taxis around Sv Naum that we could hire all the way to Brajcino (90km), how much would it potentially cost?

hey guys, was hoping to get an update from the thread that was down below that was 4 years old. Is it possible to take a bus from Thessaloniki to Ohrid or does the journey still require a taxi change from Florina to Bitola?

I plan to visit Ohrid for one day in OCTOBER and then go to Skopje. Do I need to buy bus tickets to Skopje in advance? In some forums I read that tickets should be bought at least 2 days earlier before the trip, but it was all concerning summer. If yes - can I purchase tickets online somehow?

Hello everybody, greetings from istanbul ... I will be visiting gevgelija on june 24-25 and want to come to ohrid on 24. As much as I could see, the best way is by bus. Is it possible to come early in the morning to ohrid and leave late evening back to gevgelija? Is there any way I can reserve or buy ticket online? Thanks in advance for all the answers :) Hakan

Hi fellow travellers, We have unique opportunity to have cooking class organised for us on the last day of the meet, 30th of May. We will be learning how to prepare traditional Macedonia dishes... As that day is more or less free time for everybody, with alternative half & full day sightseeing tours. If you are not going to any of the tours, you might consider cooking class. We have to have good number of participants, at least 12 to be worth while for us and the cook. If we have more than we can make more groups. Hello, Does somebody have any information about the marked trails in Galicica National Park? Where do they start, etc. In May we met somebody who traveled with a Dutch organization (SNP travels) and he had descriptions of the trails and marks. We are going to Ohrid at June 17 for a week, looked at www.visit-ohrid.com for a room or apartment and found BALABAN. It looks fency and nice, cost 40 euro a night for room, other apartments less luxurious cost about 20-30 euro. Somebody knows it? any recomendations? As I have found out elsewhere, there are no buses from Bitola to Thessaloniki, and one has to travel to the border by taxi. Any idea how much a taxi from Bitola to the Greek border crossing would cost, and how much a taxi from the border crossing to Florina would cost? Also, can I get from Ohrid to some train station on the way Skopje - Thessaloniki, to save the time of going back to Skopje from Ohrid?
