hi there, i would like to rent a car in odessa and do day trips around odessa etc. how good and save are the roads around odessa? how crazy is the traffic police in scaming you for money etc. is it worth driving a car as a tourist around odessa?

Hi everyone, as I'm planning to travel to Odessa in October from Bulgaria (on the Varna - Odessa bus), I'd like to know how to get to the city centre by using public transport. The bus is due to arrive in Odessa at 21,30. Are there city buses running by night? I'd like to avoid taking taxis.. Also, anyone knows about passport controls and need to fill in immigration form at the border (when entering Ukraine)? Thank you in advance.

Hi there! We are two guys,visiting Odessa during July,20-27,2012! We are not well sure where to stay!Next to beach,Arcadia or at the center(Dribasovsky!)!!??We want to relax our summer holidays and have some fun at night,but not sure about the safty in Odessa parts at nights,as we receive many warnings through Net! Hi everyone, I hope you can help me. I have scoured the net looking for the address and more importantly a phone number for this shop. The guy is in Odessa Ukraine and I'm trying to get the phone number of his shop and the name of his shop as I really would like to get a tattoo by this amazing talent. I will be driving to the Ukraine from the UK as I also love traveling and have never been to the Ukraine. The tattoo artists name is Dmitriy Samohin and his shop is in Odessa. That's all I know. As part of my Ukrainian tour i will stay a number of nights in Odessa and then move to Lviv probably by train. I need to get my head around certain issues concerning Odessa and plan accordingly. Is odessa safe,are there any scams I should be up on. Any reccomendations for budget places to stay? So, I've now definitely decided to ditch the Hotel in favour of renting an apartment. Can someone please explain to me how it's possible that the same apartments are being offerred by several different agencies, please? What are the chances of getting ripped off (completely or the price going up) or being forced to take an apartment on arrival different to the one booked? Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm considering visting Odessa with a friend in July or August this year. I'm pretty clear on one thing: we'll be spending every night in one of the Arkadia beach clubs. I've had a look at hotels and am very surprised at the small number of hotels available in Odessa and around Arkadia in particular. I checked the availability for several and there was none. I'm talking 5 months in advance here. Some hotels never had any availability - not even in February or March! Is this the most popular holiday destination ever or do the online booking systems simply not work? Alertantively can anyone recommend a good agency doing small appartments, please? And what's the deal with host families, please? Any help is much appreciated!

I am going to Odessa in July any one else heading there then. this will be my first trip to Odessa any suggestions on things to see and do would be great.
