My 11 year old son and I will be staying in South Lake Tahoe for a week at the end of July. We would like to see the giant Redwoods and giant Sequoias, where are the nearest locations found. We will have a rental car for the week.
Going to Nashville for FanFest. I want to visit a few honky tonks. Is there any such thing as a non-smoking honky tonk downtown? Are there some that are better ventilated than others? I am also presuming that because of the age of them that most will have no air conditioning. Is that right? Any suggestions would be appreciated and would cut down on endless rambling around. Also do the majority of restaurants have a non-smoking section?

Hi 3 friends and myself are heading to Myrtle beach at the end of the month to work. We have a motel confirmed but are trying to find a condo/apartment with cooking facilities etc. Also we are confused about Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Which one would be better for j1 students in terms of nightlife,jobs,accommodation....
Is north myrtle beach more of a golf/upclass resort? We are finding it hard to get accommodation in the main myrtle beach area. Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, I'm off to LV for the week, visiting family and I enjoy dancing and good music more than gambling. Shows are expensive, too. Any ideas for good places to hear R&B or Django jazz? Or how about Lindy or east coast swing dancing?
Would love meeting up with locals over drinks - where do they go?
We have planned out our time in Alaska with the exception of the part around choosing either Seward with kayaking at the Aialik Glacier or Valdez with kayaking at Prince William Sound.
We arrive in Anchorage at 6am in June and the options we are deciding between are:
1. Day 1 Drive to Seward, maybe do a glacier hike at Exit Glacier. Day 2 take the all day water taxi / glacier paddling to Aialik glacier (Liquid Adventures). Day 3 return through Anchorage and drive up to Healy for 2 nights to visit Denali NP. Day 4 shuttle to Wonder Lake in Denali NP. Day 5 drive to Tok. Day 6 drive to Kluane NP, day 6 drive to Haines.
2. Day 1 Drive to Healy to visit Denali NP. Day 2 shuttle to Wonder Lake in Denali NP. Day 3 drive to Valdez. Day 4 glacier paddling to Columbia glacier in PWS. Day 5 drive to Tok. Day 6 drive to Kluane NP, day 6 drive to Haines.
From what we have read, Seward has more wildlife but while the paddling at Aialik may be better it is definitely more expensive, though there may be a reason for this I.e it is better?. We miss out of the scenic Glenn Highway and Richardson Highway.
If we skip Seward and go to Valdez the drive appears to be more scenic but maybe we are sacrificing wildlife and the glacier paddling doesn't seem as good or hyped up.
If anyone has done these 2 variations of itinerary we would really appreciated input as it is hard to sort out the best option with tradeoffs... driving scenery versus best paddling versus wildlife etc. Also the road conditions, Glenn and Richardson Highway to Tok or around Fairbanks, Alaska Highway to Tok.
After Haines, we are dropping the car (one way hire with Avis) and travelling on the AMHS to Juneau, Gustavus (for Glacier Bay), Sitka, Wrangell and Ketchikan. We are not sure if what we may see in the second part of the trip changes which of the options we are best to do out of Anchorage.
I am traveling to Serbia and Macedonia..Can anyone tell me what mobile sim I should buy which works good in both countries and internet....thanks

Just hoping if anyone could recommend a nice, good value hotel / motel / B&B with a good view of the mountains. We are staying 1 night in the area on our way to Georgia this month and I want a nice but inexpensive place to rest for the night. We are in our Mid-20s and love the outdoors. Thank you!

Hello, Austin folks! We are going to be in town over the 4th of July. What's the best bet for fireworks? Also, we'll be staying downtown because our 16-yr-old son is going to a gaming thing at the Convention Center. Do we need a car to see the best that Austin has to offer? We'll be there from the 3rd to the 9th.
Thanks for any info and recommendations!
Coming for 5 days in may and bringing my well behaved mutt. Found a great place to stay in St. augustine Beach and was wondering if any one could point me to any recommended pet friendly restaurants and also are there any stretches of beach in the area that allow off leach dogs
A few friends and I are vacationing out to Denver and need some insight on the best place to stay for guys in there early 20s. Specifically an area with a good vibe and nightlife. I heard downtown denver is good place to research.
We plan on hiking, going to coors field, and Red Rocks amphitheater. Any other ideas for things to do would also be great!
Thanks!
Nick
Hey fellow travelers!
My wife and I have been looking into staying in Savannah for a weekend getaway and have been keeping an eye out for great places to stay. We're really interested in the bed and breakfast inn idea. I've seen some good reviews for Presidents Quarters Inn, but wanted to find out more information. Their rooms look absolutely charming and I've heard that they believe in true Southern hospititality, but I've got a few questions.
1. Is the location ideal? What are some of the great hot spots nearby?
2. What seasons/times of year should we avoid? When is the best time to stay there?
and lastly 3. What's your favorite thing about the Presidents Quarters Inn? What makes it unique?
Thanks!
We want to take the Highline Trail to site GRN(Granite Park) then the next morning take Swiftcurrent Pass to Many Glacier.
1) Am I reading the map right that the Swiftcurrent Pass trailhead is right at Many Glacier?
2) Can we leave our car at Logan Pass or Many Glacier and shuttle to one or the other?
3) Is it better to start at Logan Pass or Many Glacier? (It looks like they are the same distance to GRN)
We are going mid-August and plan to spend two nights in Glacier NP. We want to do this backcountry camping one night and spend one night in Many Glacier campground, but I've heard some horror stories about finding a site there (We work at Disney and the last thing we want to deal with is crazy pushy tourists). Should I just avoid camping there? Also what is a good runner up? (We are tent/hammock camping)
