This year we went to the Puerto Vallarta area and found it VERY expensive. Almost the same prices as at home in the US for restaurants and hotels. Are thing cheaper in Oaxaca ? there is less motivation to go to Mexico if it's going to cost so much ! Thanks
puerta vallarta is hypertouristic. well at least in the tourist zone. oaxaca is certainly less. are you talking about the city or elsewhere?

We were in a small town called Bucerias about 25 miles N. Of PV and it was still very expensive. We are talking now about going to the city of Oaxaca in hopes of finding cheaper tacos !
