I'm stationed in Hawaii and am flying my girlfriend out for a week, i wanted to do a picnic on Waikiki beach to watch the sunset and was wondering what part would be the most secluded/best.
I think this time is good if we want to enjoy the holiday. I suggest you to go to the Phu Quoc Island, it's very beautiful island with many long and wide beachs. My first thought -- don't expect seclusion in Waikik, but this doesn't mean you cant have a great sunset picnic... Be sure research the available parking options before you arrive, and get there early. Your best bet might be Fort DeRussy Beach park. From what I've heard, they have preferential parking for members of the military. Plan you picnic for Friday evening and just after dark you'll be treated to fireworks, courtesy of the Waikiki Hilton. Hope that helps, Ken
