Firstly, is there a budget airline that can take me to Novi Sad from London? I would like to take a day or two trip to Nis from Novi Sad, what is the best way to travel and how long does it take? I am really interested in visiting Serbia, and if anyone can recommend other towns or cities in Serbia that are must-sees (other than Belgrade) let me know. If anyone would like to meet up and show me around, that would be even better.
There are no budget flights from uk to Serbia at the moment. You can fly to Budapest, Zagreb or Sofia with budget airlines and occasionally thomson have flights to Nis (it is really a charter for skiing but I have seen seats only offered). When are you travelling? Nis in late spring/summer is nice but very cold at this time of year. Many of the "tourist" attractions are also closed at this time - as well as Cele Kula (Skull Tower) I would suggest visiting Mediana (roman villa) and Niska Banja (nearby spa town) and if it is open DEFINITELY visit the Red Cross Camp - this is a WWII era concentration camp which was one of the most moving places I have visited. Travel from Nis to Novi Sad can be done by train but I would suggest bus - its just over 3 hours to belgrade and another hour onto Novi Sad.

I advice you to spend most of the time in Belgrade and Novi Sad. Despite that maybe you should visit and Subotica and Sombor (for one day).
