A spur of the moment decision to fly to Phuket next month (April 2013) with my 13 yr old daughter, a weekend getaway if I may say and an advance birthday gift for her. It was a preference to stay a little bit farther away from the crowd in Patong Beach, I was actually hoping we can get a hotel in Karon/Kata area, but next thing I know I was already booking BAAN CHAYNA HOTEL/RESORT which is located in SURIN BEACH. I know nothing about the place and so as most of my friends who’s gone through a Phuket trip as most of them stayed in either Patong or Kata areas.

Has anyone of you stayed in this hotel before? They have good reviews, that I know, but I am more worried about transfers to and fro, how accessible is the place to where the piers are to start off the island tours? It was a bit of a challenge to do research online as most of the tourists sharing their experiences mostly stayed in the most commonly known tourist areas (Patong/Kata/Karon) and not Surin. HELP!

Hi from jan 17 2013 till 4th feb i am in this region and interested in learning wing chung and / or playing badminton (I was playing tourniers in switzerland). Has anybody an idea where wing chung (wing tsung / private teacher?) or badminton (club) maybe practised?? Locally i am flexibel in this area. tks for all help and information. Ulrich

Hi all, I am currently in Vientiane and need to be in Khon Kaen on this Wednesday by 3 pm. I found out there's a bus from Vientiane 9 am arriving Nong Khai 11 am. Anyone has an idea how and when to get to Khon Kaen to be there in time? All help appreciated! Seikku

Hi, Next month I am visiting Thailand. From there, I intend to go to Vientiane by road. I will reach Udon Thani at 1725 hrs by Air Asia flight from Phuket. Can I make it to Vientiane directly the same day, or stay at Udon Thani / Nongkhai & leave the next morning? Can anyone pl advice? I will have to get my visa at the border. Thanks in advance. Singh

Does anyone know if there are any buses from Pak Chong (Isaan region) to Nakhon Pathom? We are going on to Phetchaburi and we don't particularly want to get the train back into Bangkok and back out. The distances from Pak Chong are similar but the train from Bangkok to Phetchaburi stops at Nakhon Pathom after about 1hr 40min Many thanks for any help

Hi Folks - Im flying out solo from London to Bangkok and spending a week in Chanthaburi at the beginning of December, then i have another 4 weeks to see/tour Thailand. All the good intentions of planning seem not to have worked and i now find myself going in a couple of weeks and Iv not much of an idea of what or where to go...Aghhh!!....In a way Im not toooo bothered as i can 'wing'it with a lonely planet guide book but if anyone fancies meeting up as a travel companion i would enjoy the company - i want to trek/bike a little,get some sunshine and see culture and animals and eat locally in an easy going way visiting quieter areas. Any advice from fellow travellers much appreciated as iv not been here before and anyone doing the same-drop me an email.

Hi there, I am planning to go from KK to Mae Sot at the Burma border at the beginning of november 2010. I believe that I have pass by Phitsalunok, does any one know about the timing of buses going from KK to Phitsalunok? I think that the buses running from KK to Chiang Mai pass by Phitsalunok. The only thing I am (allmost) sure is that the last bus leaving from Phitsalunok to Mae Sot is at 3 pm.
