Hi, Please advise on what is the best way to get to geiranger from flam, using public transport?
I am spending a day in Eidfjord in August from a cruise ship. Can you suggest walks please that do not invovle a drive. I am aware of the walk to the Viking Graves, can this be extended ?I have also read about beaches on the river , any more information ?

Hello everyone, I have one spare train ticket (return) and would like to know if anyone would need it so I can resell it.
The train tickets is from Oslo (departing at 23:23 on 12 jun 2013) to Voss (arriving at 05:25 on 13 jun). The return is from Voss (departing at 00:27 on 17 jun 2013) to Oslo (arriving at 06:27 on 17 jun). I purchased them at the mini price which is NOK 249 and NOK 399. Unfortunately my plane to Oslo has been cancelled in cause of an airport stricke, so I now have these two tickets and I'm looking for someone who happens to plan traveling to Voss on 12 june.

I am planning 5 days around Allesund starting 20th June. Would be grateful for your recommendation on:
- local transport (bus?) from Allesund to Runde (in the evening after 6p.m.)
- trekking paths around Geirenger - is there still snow?
- camping recommendations around Geirenger
- Runde lighthouse accomodation - is it possible to spend the night not being a member of Norway's touristic organization?
Any other ideas for local attractions?

Hello, we will (hopefully) be taking the train from Bergen to Finse and then doing a multi-day hike to Flam at the beginning of September this year. A couple questions...
• Is that a good route to hike? I'm hoping it will be very scenic.
• Is there a ferry that will take us from Flam or Gudvangen 1-way back to Bergen?
I will be traveling to Norway early June and would like to have glacier walk in Briksdalen.
However, I find that I can't depart from Stryn, have glacier walk and then back to Stryn in the same day by public bus. So I would like to know the price of taking a taxi from Stryn to Briksdalen in the morning (around 9:00) and then back to Stryn in the afternoon (around 18:00) in the same day.

As part of my Bergen trip, I'm planning to rent a car and do a 2-day round trip drive from Bergen around Hardangerfjord (clockwise direction, through Norheimsund, then Eidfjord, Kinsarik, etc).
I know that the first day, I would like to make it to Lofthus or Odda and camp overnight. On the morning of the 2nd day, I need to be at Jondal by 10am for a guided glacier walk.
My question is whether I should choose to stay at Lofthus or Odda? My plan was to reach the campsite around dinner time, have a easy/quick meal and then maybe try some short walks or hikes and see the local scenery around the campsite. Which place has the best scenery, "short" hikes, or other cultural attractions?
Also, if I stay overnight at Lofthus, then I will miss everything between Lofthus and Jondal as I will need to drive without stop the 2nd morning. Will I be missing anything really great in the Odda region? For example, I hear that there are many waterfalls.
If I stay at Odda, I probably will not get much time to spend at either Lofthus or Odda anyways. But is there much point in stopping in Lofthus if I'm going to Kinsarvik as well?
(Finally, I've done a lot of internet research, but if anyone has any must-see sights they'd like to recommend, I'd be highly appreciative.)

I will be staying in Bjorli in June and want to do Geiranger Fjord within same day and want to come back till night.
I found Fjord1 starts froms Valldal at 9.30 and buss from Åndalsnes to Valldal will reach at 10, and Taxi looks expensive.
Is there any way we can do Geiranger fjord from Bjorli within same day.
I plan to spend 3 nights in Flam along with my parents - we are 3. I am flying in to Oslo and flying out of Oslo. I was wondering if I should take the train from Oslo airport to Flam (with 2 changes) and return, Or rent a car from Oslo airport? There is not much of a price difference. Can someone guide me on the best option I should take? I don't want to miss out on the scenic views.
We shall be flying into Oslo with SAS from Tromso arriving 1205 and transferring onto a BA flight to London.
The BA flight time was originally 1515, but it has been changed to 1435.
Is 2hrs 30 mins sufficient time for the transfer?

Hi, I am going to be in Tromso next week, and I am planning to do at least one full-day trekking day-trip. I am looking for a trail route recommendation. I have seen some shorter recommendations online, but I am looking for something a bit more substantial (at least 20 km). Anyone?
In June, we will take the ferry from Flam to Gudvangen, and the bus back. There are 2 ferry options - Fjord1 or Sognefjorden fjord sightseeing. They both depart at the same time (15.10 is our preference), and they both cost the same - NOK 285/person.
Having no knowledge of either company, is one a better choice than the other for some reason?

1. does the bus Nordkappekspressen (between Narvik and Alta, then to Honningsvag) still exist? because I cannot find any info on the internet.
2. if it doesn't run anymore, what are my concrete options to reach Alta (excluding flights, if possible)?

Hello! I'll be in northern Finland for a week. I'm thinking about visiting the North Cape. But with public transportation and 1 night at a hostel, I would spend 200€ for 2 days. I'm thinking it's way to expensive and I'm not sure if I should go... What do you think? I'd just like to hear a few opinions...

Hi, I will be traveling to Norway at the end of June and want to hike to the most northern point if Knivskjellodden. My question is what's the best way to get there from Bergen? 1) Should we fly to Hammerfest and then take a ferry to Honningsvåg? 2) Should we fly to Honningsvåg directly? 3) Once in Honningsvåg or anywhere else on the north cape, how do we actually get to the trailhead? 4) If by bus, is there a website we can access to make reservation? 5) How many days should we allow? You said that a tunnel link the North-Cape-Island with the continent. do you know if there is a DIALY and FRECUENT service to cross it by bus?? Something else I would love to know is how to get the hurtigruten boat till Lofoten, if it takes more than one day and if its possible to dit everyday. And of course, how to get to the port! I am planning my visit to Scandinavia, (I´m leaving on next Friday!). I will start in the south of Sweden (Sverige!), then will go to Finland, and after that, I will travel to the north, with the idea of visiting first Finnish Lapland and from there getting to NordKapp and Lofoten islands, before travelling south in the west coast. So, to sum up, I will be in north of Finland, (probably Rovaniemi, or Kemi) when I have to get Nordkapp-taking into account that I wont have/use a car. I would appreciate a lot any info with regard to this question; I'm also lost about accommodation in the area; actually, I`ve just discovered its not so easy to find cheap places, b&b, hostels, or just places to sleep in the area. I'm starting to plan a cycle ride starting in May next year which should take me from Nordkapp to Sicily (or maybe Gibraltar; not decided yet). Can anyone give any advice on the quickest/easiest way to get from say Oslo to Nordkapp with a bike? Due to limited time, I sadly can't afford to cycle all the way up there, but I expect I'll probably have to do at least the last bit. I have come across some information that says bikes can be taken on buses, but on the other hand I've read that about other countries as well where it's simply not true. Any help very welcome!
