Am I correct in saying the last train to Lille in the evening leaves Lens at 19.44 ? I need to depart Lens at about 21.30 after a football game. Are there any alternatives apart from a taxi or staying overnight ?

I will be staying in Lille but wish to visit Lens. Can anyone tell me the last train back to Lille in the evening ? The timetables I have looked at indicates 19.44. Is that correct or is there one later in the evening ? If not, is there an alternative way - apart from a taxi - of getting back to Lille at about 21.30 ?

Hi there, I hope somebody can help me. Does anybody have experience (or happens to know)if there is a secure long term parking car park close to the port? I think I found one, but it doesn't seem to be possible to book a space in advance via internet and just gives a french phone nr.(I don't speak french). I wouldn't want my parents taking a risk and just turning up and hope for the best. It has to be secure as well. Thanks for your help!

£80 for me and the family, it's a deal!. We'd normally fly to the continent then hire a car but as we'd be going to France or Germany anyway this time it's a no brainer. I've never taken a car ferry before, how long before the scheduled departure should I aim for. I can't find this obvious piece of advice anywhere.

My son is travelling by train from Paris, then needs to get himself to Kemmel. I cannot see any public transport that would take him anywhere near there. It has been suggested that he travels to Ieper changing in Brussels, but that is a 3.5 hour journey and still has a 20 minute taxi ride at the end. What suggestions does anyone have to get him to Kemmel please? Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable & safe taxi company we could pre-book? Any thoughts how much this will cost please? He is too young to drive & the transfer must be safe & quick. Thank you.

Hello, We will stay at BandB in Saint-Martin Boulogne, about 5 km from Nausicaa. I wonder if there's a bus line going from our hostel to Nausicaa. If not, where can I park the car near a bus stop on a line going to Nausicaa. I don't want to pay an expensive parking inside the city. Thanks

How much do the local taxis charge .... Will they wait for us?? Are there mini busses available? Which day would be better to plan this visit .... Friday, Saturday or Sunday? Are there any other sites to see while we are there?

Hi, my partner is travelling to Wissant next weekend and won't have a car. He's taking the Eurostar to Calais but has no idea how to get to Wissant. He's been told there are no trains, but does anyone know if there's a bus which runs nearby? Or is a taxi the only option? (if so, how much is that likely to cost?) Thanks!!

My g.g.grandfather Nathaniel Powell & his brother Thomas were lace makers from England living in Calais in the 1840s. Most of their children were born there before they came to the US arounf 1850 and settled in CONN & Philadelphia. Two of the sons(my g.grandfather) started a stocking mill in Philadelphia in 1879 and became quite successful. We want to see the lace museum and the area of St. Pierre where they lived. We are wondering where the best archives are--perhaps city hall? Could we find a history buff to hire for a tour. We will only come down from London on the train for the day--9:30am-9:30pm. perhaps on Sept 9th. Pat & Bill
