Hello Fellow Travelers! Is there any place to cycle around Nice? Or can you cycle at all in the actually city of Nice, like are there bike lanes?
We are in Paris right now and going to nice for 5 days on Sunday. We are a 26 yr old couple. I have heard hikes are great there. We are also going for a day trip to Monaco. Any thoughts on a day trip???? Any boat trips??? Any trains to anywhere close by??

Hi, me and my friend going to Nice but we have not booked a hotel because we have an early train in the morning. Is there anywhere that is safe where we can just sit and wait until the station opens? Or it it 100% vital we book a hotel?
I am going to nice soon with my family and would like to visit castle hill.
Can anyone confirm/ deny if there are toilets at the hill, if so where? I am finding the info online conflicting and would appreciate some first hand experience. Is there anywhere to get refreshments?
Thanks very much.
No panic, I am not going to upstage the famous Apollo (though the old fountain looked more like a fountain, IMHO)
A group of cultural enthusiasts approached me about a certain Vladimir Golenishchev, a renowned Egyptologist who lived in Nice and is buried at the Russian Orthodox cemetery in Caucade. They want to set a monument either on his grave or in the city. I vote for the latter, as the cemetery is located God knows where and is closed most of the week.
Anyway, how does one go about permissions, etc.?
Question 2 is:
How does one find out the address of someone who lived in Nice in 1930s – 40s?
Because my dutch friends want to see the football match tomorrow I decided to go with public transport to Nice from Brignoles and find my way to the airport later in the day. However I am unable to find out witch stop I should use to be as close as possible to the // depart trains touristique// at quay des etats uni., It says Nice Albert 1 and Nice Gare Routiere, but an english site states that this does not exist .On the site of Lignes dazur I cannot find no 20 Marseille Aix en Provence/ Nice. I am unable to walk large distances., Could anyone advise me where to get of the bus . I understand that bus 98 will take me to the airport later in the day. Have looked around but wanted to double check the train seems the easiest option?
Only a short 30-40 min train trip
Does anyone know the name of the square in Nice that emits plumes of steam and the significance of this square?
Thinking about going for a girly break to Nice and wondering how much (on average) it is for wine? Also, for lunch (say two pastas) - trying to work out how much money we would need!
We will be in Nice for approx one and half days.We are flying in from Amsterdam the morning of June 30th and leaving for Toulouse on July 1st afternoon via rental car.
What are top things to do? We like outdoors, walking around seeing sights, markets, scenic beauty of a city and most importantly FOOD. We were hoping to get out to Monte Carlo and Eze for a few hours on June 30th evening, and spend rest of the time in Nice covering as much as we can.
Hotel or restaurant recommendations welcome!!
Can you recommend a good restaurant not too expensive?
Anyone know of any good. reliable and safe business to charter catamaran rides from for Nice France?
We will be ending our trip to Provence by staying in Nice, from which we'll fly home. We'll only have 2 1/2 days in Nice, but I'm wondering if a half day in Villefranche would be worthwhile?
Hello VT world! I'm spending 5 days in Nice and 4 days in St. Tropez May 18-27. Hoping to venture out and visit Eze, and Monte-Carlo while staying in Nice and Cannes when we are in St. Trop. Any other suggestions on things we must do while we are out there? Will be traveling with a friend, we are both in our mid 20's so we are looking to have some cultural, fun adventures and experience as much as we can.
How do I get a map of bus routes in Nice
t is only 3 days until my trip now and I would appreciate some help as I am getting different answers reading through guides etc.
I arrive in Nice airport around half 8 on Wednesday evening. I am staying at Hotel Massenet. I understand it is a convenient hotel as there is a bus stop right outside its doors but what number is the bus from the airport and how frequently do they run?
I plan on doing a day trip to Villefranche, Eze and Monaco on Friday 2 May. I believe the best way to do this is by train? Travelling to Villefranche first then onto Eze and then Monaco. I'm told a ticket to Monaco will cover all aspects of the train.
Thanks in advance!
Is there a direct, reliable bus route from Milan to Nice? My husband is 73 years old and refuses to take a train because we would have to drag our luggage into the train and out.
I am the one who asked this question. All of the responses were helpful. I was asking to see if camera theft would be a major problem. Would normal procautions be enough? Thank you for your thoughtfulness!
What are the best and enjoyable places to enjoy in Nice, Cannes and Monaco. in a 3 days stay... Economical means of transportation and Reasonable places to go for Casino, Dance, Beach and some other places to see for... please guide.

Bon soir! My friend & I will be visiting Nice at the beginning of August for 4 nights & want to stay at a decent, but reasonably priced hotel with a pool, close to Promenades des Anglais, must have 2 beds! Any suggestions would be great! Merci! Carla :D
Should I bring a camera, or buy postcards?
I am trying to locate the name of an artist from which I purchased several small watercolor paintings from during October, 2012. It looks like her first name may be Sofi.
My husband, 2 sons (17 and 12), and I will be arriving into Nice from the United States at around 11:30 am near the end of July and staying in the French Riviera and Aix en Provence for 6 days before we head to the Italian Riviera. We would like suggestions on how to divide up the trip.
We would like to drive to Aix (inland route) and stop at some of the little towns along the way. We hear it is a beautiful drive, especially this time of year. On the way back to Nice, we also want to hit some of the smaller towns like Cassis. Of course, we will want to visit Antibes, Cannes, St. Tropez, St. Paul de Vence, Menton, Monaco, etc. We have been told that it is not smart to try to drive East on the Coast of Nice at this time of year due to traffic, so we were planning to take trains.
We think we will be too tired to drive when we arrive the first night. We had originally been planning to stay the first night in Nice, then drive to Aix for 2 nights, then back to Nice as our home base for 3 more nights.
Our second plan was to spend the first night in Antibes, the next 2 nights in Aix, and the remaining 3 nights in Nice.
Now that I started looking into accommodations, I remember the reason we usually rent apartments, so I am thinking maybe we should stay in Nice for 3 nights and then Aix for 3 nights or perhaps Nice for 4 nights and then Aix for 2 nights.
Because I have never been to any of these places, I was hoping that someone might have suggestions.
We like eating, shopping (unique items--not T-shirts and not brand name items), little towns, people watching, tourist attractions, art (but not so much museums), and eating (higher end). (Of course, if anyone has any "can't miss" experiences, we welcome those as well. I am just beginning my research.) We will likely go to the beach once or twice for an hour or two, but it is definitely not the focus of our trip.
Any recommendations on how to best divide up our time given your knowledge of the area--traffic, transportation, our interests, time of year, etc.?
Have got a big issue! Booked airfrance from Nice to Athens and saw this today!
Please note that the fare you have selected for this Air France flight does not include any checked baggage.
- Hand luggage: Max 12 Kg. Max 55x35x25 cm.
- Hold luggage: Not Included
No checked baggage!!! WHAT !!!
I have tried to contact them is there an email address?
Also what would checked baggage cost? Its cheaper to do it now right?
I'm thinking of staying in Nice for a week this summer. I've been to the French Riviera before and visited Cannes, Monaco, and Nice. I was wondering if there are other interesting spots to visit this time around as I don't want to revisit the same places again. I will have a car while there so that's not a problem. I love cute coastal cities with sandy beaches but also nice hills overlooking the sea.
All suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks in advance :-)
