Arriving into terminal 1 at 21.20 in August, have been told no shuttle to campanile, L'arenas. What's the best and cheapest way to get there. Would it be safe to walk? Is it advisable to pre pay for train (am leaving for Le Lavandou next day) Thank you
We walked from the airport to the Campanile Hotel that is immediately opposite. It is a busy road but there are marked crossing places. We have done it on two occasions - on the first time the following morning the two men in our family party of 4 walked back to pick up a pre booked Hire Car then collected us from the hotel. On the other occasion we dropped the car off before an overnight stay in readiness for an early flight home the next morning. It could not have been easier or safer.

Thank you. Thought it might be a bit dangerous at that time of night being a solo female traveller! Was told a taxi would cost me €30!

If you are coming into Terminal 1, the Campanile is literally across the street. Admittedly it's a busy highway but from the terminal there is a short tunnel underneath the highway with a huge Novotel on the far side. Walk to the right of the Novotel along the highway and the Campanile is the next building. I'd say it's safe to walk, but if you are uncomfortable, take a taxi. The Novotel has a free shuttle but I checked the Campanile web site and they do not. Too bad. At that hour, I would not be particularly nervous. One or two in the morning, yes, I'd think twice and probably opt for a cab. We've stayed at the Novotel a couple times when we got in late or were leaving early. It is not a bad area, just a lot of traffic and nothing residential. Enjoy your trip.

BTW, when we stay at the Novotel, we don't take their free shuttle; we walk. It's no more than 10 minutes and probably less.

On the second question Is it advisable to pre pay for train (am leaving for Le Lavandou next day) Thank you There is no railway station at Le Lavandou. The nearest with decent service is St Raphael so it's a bus from there. Almost all trains from Nice Ville to St Raphael are local trains, no need to pay in advance (it costs the same regardless) just allow enough time to buy your tickets. Timetable telechargement.ter-sncf.com/... I hope that helps. Sorry I don't have the bus information to hand.
