I will arrive in Nice from Aix-en-Provence and will stay at Hotel Suisse. What is the best way to get to the hotel from the train station? I will have one piece of luggage, not too small... Taxi, perhaps?
I would ask the hotel first. They should know. Enjoy your travel.

Yes, the best way is to take a taxi and it could cost about E20. The Gare Nice Ville which is in the center of Nice is still quite a distance to get to the Hotel Suisse which is on the slope of the Parc Du Chateau just east of Cours Saleya on the road to the Port of Nice. Great location and view. :-)

Depends on your circumstances If your piece of luggage is wheeling, and you budget doesn’t, then you can easily walk – about half an hour – the main street, no steps, a good way to familiarize with the place. Locating the hotel is no brainer either, if you have a map. On the other hand, with no map and in a hurry taxi may be preferable, as you won’t have to look for the hotel - the drive will. I have found this e-mail address on their site hotel.suisse@hotels-ocre-azur.com

Agree with the above, the tram is nice, though sometimes crowded. You can get your ticket from the automated stand at the tram stop (1 euro), they don’t sell tickets on the tram, as far as I know.

If your budget isn't limited, taking a taxi is the best option. Otherwise, if you have a wheeled luggage, you could go by tram + bus or take 2 buses: a) Tram + bus: go to Avenue Jean Medecin, take the tram at Thiers station (in direction of "Pont Michel"), get off at Garibaldi station, walk to bus stop "Ségurane" on Rue Catherine Ségurane. Take bus T32 (in direction of "Château de l'Anglais") and get off at "Tour Bellanda" bus stop, which is less than 5 minutes away from your hotel. b) Another option (trip is longer than the other one, bus 30 service is very limited on weekends) is going to the bus stop across the train station main avenue and take bus 30 (in direction of "Riquier"), get off at Le Port Arson bus stop, go to Place Ile d'Beaute and then search for Le Port bus stop (I think it's the first stop after the church). Take bus T32 (in direction of "Château de l'Anglais") and get off at "Tour Bellanda". - Tram ticket: buy your ticket (1€) at the ticket machine before taking the tram. If you buy only one ticket, you will need coins. Credit card is accepted only if you buy 2 tickets (or more). Don't forget to validate your ticket when you're inside the tram. You can use the same ticket for the bus, IF it's within a maximum time period of 74 minutes. If your tram ticket is still good, just validate it at the ticket machine near the bus driver, otherwise you will have to buy another ticket (1€) with him. If you plan taking the bus or tram again for the rest of day, you may consider buying the 1-day pass for 4€ (you can buy it with the bus driver or at the Ligne d'Azur shop across the train station).
