Hi there, Does anyone know of any really small wineries in the region that the main tours wouldn't take you to. Ones that aren't on the internet and ones that only a true wine connaiseur would know about? Thanks, Deborah
Follow this lead on Google. "Rick Vanderkuip" on rotaryniagara.org/gossip/iss... The ice wines from Niagara are to be enjoyed.

Firstly . The tours should not really be an issue. There are two groups of wineries . Group # 1 is east of the Welland Cannel . If you explore this area and see buses in the parking lot at a vine yard just drive on to the next vineyard. Group # 2 is west of St. Catherines . Repeat. As for best wines fro VQA. They do not appear in the LCBO. They are exported or are served at a vineyard restaurant. So. Try to visit some vineyards that have restaurants. But the bus tours usually stop or arrive at these places for lunch . Try Vinelands Estates and hope there is a forecast of rain at 11:00 am which means the bus tours will cancel at 11;30 am and you can sneak in. Great wine and food and even a view ( or sort of ) . Do not worry about the bus tours.
