Better to book a tour or try to do it on your own? Arriving on a Monday evening, going to the magic show; will be there all day Tuesday and Wednesday - leaving on Thursday morning. We have a 12 year old and want to do and see as much as possible (possibly including the aero tram and the jet boat). Suggestion greatly appreciated!

How to get from Niagara, CA to Buffalo Airport for a flight!

by mickey.p Online Now Apr 27, 2013 at 12:11 PM

Hi, I am looking to visit Niagara (CA) for the day and then take a flight from Buffalo to NYC that night, how would we go about this without a car?

Is it OK to go just for the day? We will be travelling from Toronto that day. We could possibly stay 1 night and fly NYC the following morning but no point if nothing to do?

It'll be December so other than the actual looking at the Falls (doubt the boat trip will be on) is there anything else to do?

We're heading for Maine later this year, and since we'll be passing so close to Niagara Falls, I'd like to see it. We plan to get to the town of NF, stay for the night, and leave at 10 or 11 the next morning. What's the best way to use our time? Can we get to a good viewpoint at sunrise? Riding the boat can wait for another time - we just want to get a good look and take some pictures.

Where to stay for 1 night?

by mickey.p Online Now Apr 29, 2013 at 11:58 AM

I am coming from Toronto and looking for 1 nights accommodation - central and nice but not too pricey although if it came with a great view I may consider paying more.

We are leaving to fly from Buffalo the next day at 12.35 so if you also know the best way to get from Niagara to Buffalo airport this would help too - I have been told you can jump a taxi cab and also maybe use a train/bus?
Slightly worried that border control could take a while!

    • Niagara falls visit and stay

by shwetabh_shrivastava Online Now Aug 10, 2012 at 4:11 PM

Hi, I am planning to visit Niagara falls from New York on Sat Aug 19th and return back on 20th. I am planning to take Amtrak and so expect to arrive on 19th at about 5pm, but I am not sure which return train to take for Sunday. I have two options: 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Normally I would prefer the latter one but it is a bit costlier. So just wanted to enquire whether I have enough time for the visit to the falls, taking the famous rides there (maid of the mist etc.) and visit a couple of famous places around? Will I be able to fit all these things if I take the 12:30pm train on Sunday? Also wanted to check if someone could suggest a good hotel not too far but not too costly either. Something in the range of50 - 60. A good guesthouse will also be fine. Thanks

    • [4 - 5 days trip] Plan to enjoy the Fall from both sides

by NonSleeper Online Now Jul 6, 2012 at 10:31 PM

Hi there, I and my girlfriend are planning for a trip there. I have reviewing scripts here, yet I think getting more customized suggestions is precious. Virtualtourist members have helped me a lot in past travels and I believe it will work out just that way this time. So here are our inputs: - Time: 4-5 days - Expect to discover the Falls from both US and Canadian side. - Would love to visit other attractions around the Fall area. Our preference is something natural, such as vineyard, winery, rather than historic like museum or so. But just feel free to make your advice. While there are a pool of recommendations, which we wish to get some, I think we'd love to begin with these: - What are the most valuable places/attractions to join, given that time frame? - Is it better to stay on the US side and spend perhaps one day crossing to Canada to see the Fall? Or will it be better vice versa? - What are some affordable and acceptable places to stay? Thanks :)

    • Boarder crossing at night

by msharma40 Online Now Jun 14, 2012 at 10:53 AM

Our flight lands at the Buffalo international airport at 9:00PM and then we plan to drive to our hotel in the Canada side Niagara Falls. My question is it better to wait till to the morning to cross the boarder or is it not a big hassel to cross at night? We are travelling with two small kids. We are a permanent resident of US and I beleive just showing the green card to the boarder officials is sufficient to get entry to Canada from US. any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My wife and I are going to Niagara for 3 days with my parents. On day 1 we plan on a trip up to Niagara on the Lake - I've heard lots of good things about it. Day 2 is slated for the Falls and day 3 (1/2 day due to travel) is left open. Aside from the going behind the Falls and the Maiden of the Mist, any suggestions? Attractions, scenic rides and restaurants would be greatly appreciated.

I want to celebrate my 19th birthday at Niagara (May 5th) but I'm not sure what to do. Some of my friends are still 18 and 17 so clubbing is out of the question since one of them can get caught with their fake id. What else can we do? There is going to be 5/6 of us. We're not big party animals so it doesn't have to do with getting wasted necessarily.
