I will be making my first trip to Canada and plan to visit Niagara Falls between Aug 10-11 for a brief trip. We will be taking the Amtrak from NYC to Niagara (Ontario). I would appreciate any advice regarding the following: 1) How far is Days Inn Lundys Lane from the train station and how to get to the hotel from Amtrak Train Station as we will not be renting a car.Approximate cost if possible. 2) What locations to visit at the Falls- (one day only) suitable for a six year old and I. 3) Budget dining options Your advice will be much appreciated!
The hotel you have chosen is not particularly close to downtown Niagara Falls (Canadian side). The Amtrak station is located on the American side so you would need a get a taxi to and from your hotel. I am not able to estimate the price. With only one day to enjoy Niagra Falls I would consider staying closer to the action. There should be a local bus service but a taxi ride would be10.00 each way to/from the Falls as your hotel is located near the Lundys Lane outlet shopping mall. There are numerous hotels and motels located close to the Falls. There are lots of child friendly attractions and restaurants around the Clifton Hill area.
