New Years Eve Party in NYC suggestions

Hi all, my girlfriend and I are going to NYC over new years eve. We checked several locations around Timesquare and are not realy convinced of the square itself. We stay in HellsKitchen and would like to stay in the near vicinity for any party or club. Any suggestions for a unique NYC event e.g. Rooftop bars. Where do you go? Thanks Simon

Times Square is not worth the money unless you have the view from your hotel to the countdown itself. Once you leave your hotel, during that time , it will be hard to get back in because all the netrance is blocked with revelers. I had a room and slept there for four hundred dollars at 100 usd a hour before we were kicked out. cheers tommy x
