Hi. We'll be in New York on christmas day and want some ideas on restuarants (probably lunch). We're two families 3 adults 5 teens so nothing too formal but New York christmasy would be nice. Any ideas? Thanks. Jim
One of my favorites is Jack's http://jacksrestaurantandbar.com/ on W 40th. But I'd call and see if they're going to be open on Christmas Day. Just a couple blocks from Times Square should provide a "Christmasy" feeling.

I haven't been, but I've seen nice reviews of the Helmsley Park Lane's Christmas buffet brunch, and Kennedy's pub on West 57th Street is very popular. My pick, though, is the Rock Center Cafe. Casual, good food though a little pricey. Views of the skating rink and the tree make it very festive. I also like the Boathouse Cafe in Central Park. Wherever you choose, you'll need reservations way in advance.

I agree with the Rock Center Cafe' recommendation! That whole area screams "It's Christmas In New York!" Here's the link, but you'd be better off making a reservation on the phone; the online website reservations link can reflect inaccurate information. patinagroup.com/restaurant.p...
