JFK to Morningside Heights

by A16 Online Now May 30, 2012 at 11:55 AM

I am arriving at JFK on July 1st (a sunday) around 11 am. Since I'll be alone and with a fair amount of luggage, I was thinking about taking a taxi in to Manhattan. If I'm correct it's45 plus tip and tolls, so I'll be setting aside about60. Does anyone know the kind of traffic I'll be hitting around that time on a Sunday? Thanks!

That's the price I paid on my last trip to NYC. Sunday's are usually lighter, but you never can count on a quick trip from JFK to down town.

The amount of cash (some taxis accept credit cards) you will need to hire a taxi from JFK to Manhattan’s Morningside Heights is about60. Although I have never traveled that route at that time, I am guessing that the traffic will be light at on a Sunday morning. You ought to reach your destination in about 1 hr. & 20 mins. Enjoy the Big Apple!

Just about every yellow cab in NYC accept credit cards now. Make sure you take your receipt.
