I am staying at the Wellington Hotel next week, so can anyone recommend a place nearby that serves a great breakfast - and I'm talking about the works! Thanks Michelle

"The works" for me is a perfect baguette with sweet butter and jam at Le Pain Quotidien, a Belgian chain with several NYC locations. The nearest one is on 7th Ave. at 58th St. The Brooklyn Diner is touristy, but breakfast is good and there's plenty of it! There's one on 57th St. between Broadway and 7th Ave. Norma's in Le Parker Meridien, (57th St. between 6th-7th Aves., with an entrance on 56th St. between 6th-7th Aves.), has an outrageous breakfast menu. It's also very expensive. There are also coffee shops all over the place. You can use menupages.com to see reviews and sample menus.

For a very French breakfast with the works, check out the Petrossian Boutiques and Cafe on 7th Ave bet. 57th and 58th streets: yelp.com/biz/petrossian-bout... Be sure not to confuse the Petrossian cafe's entrance with the Petrossian Restaurant entrance; that entrance is on the corner of 58th. This place serves up a very unique breakfast and is pretty close to the Wellington. Have fun while in the city!

I totally agree with the recommendation about Norma's at the Parker Meridien. They have some great items on the menu (I believe I had some chocolate pancakes that were delicious). If you want to go further south, Bubby's Pie Co. in Tribeca is a great breakfast spot as well. For a Paris-chic higher end breakfast, Balthazar in SOHO is fantastic for breakfast (and lunch, and dinner).
