Jazz or live music club close to Pennsylvania hotel with no cover

Hi Guys, Can you advise live music bar, jazz salsa..ect close to Pennsylvania hotel with no cover. I would love to go out for a drink to a bar with nice music,dancing, but very close to the hotel. Is it safe to go out alone close to thta area?
