i'm looking to do standby for a talk show (any of them e.g. regis/kelly, the view, david letterman, etc) because of course i don't have tickets in advance. advice would be great on which one is easiest to actually get tickets to see the show, what day is best to try, etc. also, there's 6 of us, but if it's way easier with 2 or 3, then i'd rather do that. i decided it's worth it to wait super early and try to get tickets as i watch them every day and would make my trip even better.
I am not sure if you can get them by standby because sometimes there are so many people behind these tickets. But you can check out their webpages, and I think some of them may have for the dates that you will be looking for when you are in NY Once I was walking not remember where and somebody offered tickets to one of talk shows.. I even got into MTV like this. So.. who knows.. its a mysterious city. Good luck!

If you go to Times Square any afternoon there are people handing out tickets to talk shows.
