Questions about Statue of Liberty and NYSE

by enzhu Online Now Dec 4, 2007 at 3:15 PM

Hello! One of my friend is coming to NYC. We are planning to visit Staue of Liberty and NYSE. I heard that you need to register first in order to go top of the statue. It's the same if you want to go into NYSE. However I have no idea how to do the registeration. Could you let me know? Thank you very much!

You can not go to the top of the Statue of Liberty, only to the top of the base and you do have to buy a ticket for that. You can no longer visit the New York Stock Exchange.

You can't go all the way to the top of the statue of liberty, but you can still go inside (no registration necessary). & while you're there, check out Ellis Island, it's very historical and full of great info. Also, regarding NYSE, you CAN go on a guided tour. Here is the # (212) 656-5168. for the NYSE you do have to register in advance. enjoy

If you want to go inside the base of the Statue of Liberty, where there is also a museum, you need a "time pass." For further info, go to this link: http://www.nps.gov/stli/

I'm not so sure about not being able to go to the top of the SoL. I was there in June and when I got my ticket for the boat at Battery park, there was a notice saying that all trips to the top were accounted for that day. So it seemed that a limited number were allowed. Not sure how you get on the list though. The trip goes to Ellis Island first, drops off/picks up then to Liberty island then back to Battery park.
