Some like Century 21 (www.century21.com). Or the outlet at Woodbury Commons (www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=7), not in NYC proper, but up along the Hudson River.

How about Macy's. They offer most brands and they have visitors program with 10% off from most prices to international visitors (exclutions defined in the pages). visitmacysusa.com/visitors/s... Take your passport with you when visiting the store and the visitors centre first to get you saving pass.

You can get to Woodbury Commons using a special bus that comes from Manhattan. It's worth a daytrip as the stores offer great bargains, and there are a lot of stores. The top-end designers are usually selling not very current merchandise, but that doesn't matter most of the time.

Century 21 is definitely your best bet--it has all of the designer names at low(er) prices. Also check out Loehmann's on 7th between 16th & 17th. Unfortunately, the Barney's Warehouse sale just ended. You can also check to see if there will be sample sales going on while you're in town: timeout.com/newyork/shopping....

Woodbury is probably your best bet. You can catch a bus from Port Authority to/from Woodbury. Takes just about 1 hr.

If you don't mind second hand clothing, alot of new yorkers shop at consignment stores. Use Yelp to find them. You can find everything from DVF, stella mccartney, Phillip Lim to Prada. I've bought alot of clothing from there. Check out Tokio 7 which I frequent. Also google sample sales as alot of the headoffices are in New york so you will see samples sales are really frequent. I just went to one today for Club Monoco.
