Family Visit

by lynmur Online Now Feb 18, 2013 at 11:58 AM

We are 2 families coming in Oct 2013, we need a place to stay big enough for 8, doesn't have to be too central, dont mind Queens or Brooklyn as long as we are near to a subway station, anyone got any reasonably priced recommendations???

Hi - a few others to check are homeaway.com, vrbo.com and airbnb.com. Be advised that is is illegal to rent an apartment in NYC for less than 30 days. If you choose to do so (they are advertised) you run the risk of losing money or being thrown out.

we recently stayed at Ameritania Hotel at 54th Street with Times Square n theaters just round the corner. Price at ~$240 per room per night. 3 of us shared two double beds. Which I think can accomodate 4 since they are doubles beds. So perhaps the 8 of u can get two rooms.

I have stayed at the Doubletree in Times Square several times with a group about that size. All of the rooms there are 2-room suites and you can easily fit 6 in a suite (2 beds in the bed room and a double pullout couch in the common room). Two adjoining suites will do you just fine! I have found good rates for the Doubletree here: prontohotel.com/usa/new_york... It's right in the heart of Times Square, so you can't get a better location as a visitor (especially if it's anyone's first time). Have a great time in the Big Apple!
