Parking Lot #5 at the National Seashore

What time does one need to be at the gate to the National Seashore (on weekends) to be sure and get a parking spot at Lot #5? I have not been in a few years and remember not getting a spot after getting there around 9:30ish in the morning.... I know the gate opens at 6AM---do you have to be there then to get a spot?

i used to lived nearby for 10 yrs but last was in 2003, so dont know current situation, but as before I will assume you need to be there earrrlyyy. cheers
