We are a group of 6 adults on a cruise stopping in Bahamas, (Nassau). We are thinking of riding the ferry to Paradise Island. We want to find a free beach with changing facilities. It can be on Nassau though. Any other must see day trip while we stop at Nassau instead of beach? Thanks

Hi, all. Our group is doing a girls' trip to Nassau mid-July. This will be (collectively) our first trip to Bahamas. We've figured out flights and where to stay, but we are not really interested in doing the whole Atlantis/Casino scene. We'd really like to find out how to explore some of the more primitive beaches and also we'd like to know the best way(s) to get ourselves to some of the out islands, especially Eleuthera. Any and all comments, suggestions, warnings, sarcastic jabs, free money, free anything....would be appreciated. ;-)

Hi I am looking for some discount/charity stores in Nassau; in the US they are usually run by charities such as Salvation Army, Goodwill, Cancer Society and sell pretty much anything one might need for a house (clothing. kitchen wares, glassware, pots and pans, china, etc etc). Or something similar to 99cents or Dollar Tree stores where everything costs1. Anything like that in Nassau??? Very helpful if someone can inform me. Thanks vivalapant

Is Blue Lagoon Island worth visiting for the day if you are not planning on the Dolphin Encounter? I am stopping in Nassau for a day on a Disney Cruise, and cannot afford to take my family to the Atlantis excurions. The beach day at the Blue Lagoon Island sounds affordable, and pretty, with lunch included and a few toys to play with in the water. Just wanted any advice...I mostly want to enjoy the day at the beach. I wouldn't mind the dolphin thing, but it seems expensive. I'm not sure how much it costs directly at the island (rather than booking through the Disney Cruise...)

I am thinking about a trip to Paradise Island in the Bahamas in June. I know this is prime rainy season. I also know we cannot predict the weather. What I would like to know is if generally the rain comes for a short time during the day followed by the sun, or if when it rains, does it rain cats and dogs all day long? If anyone knows from experience, I'd love to find out so I can decide whether to take a chance on booking or not. Thanks.

I will be staying at the Coral Harbour villa soon and i wanted to know how the water is and is the beach nice? I don't want to be bothered and want to relax lay on the beach and go in the water. Maybe go for a sail.

I would really love to share this fishing charter while down in the bahamas.Its always been a dream of mine to go fishing on one of my bahamas trips.Unfortunately its a bit expensive for being a novice. HI. We are coming to Nassau on a cruise ship. We have two boys 10 and 7 years old. They love pirate stuff so we are taking them to the pirate museum. But after that we would like to go to a beach. We don't want one crowded with all the cruise ship passengers. I read that Junkanoo beach and Lighthouse beach are public beaches and are more low key. However, are they safe? Are there public restrooms or restaurants nearby? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.
