Planning on being in New Orleans in March. Is it warm enough to swim at that time? Should I bother getting a hotel with a pool?
I looked at the U.S. National Weather Service site for New Orleans (N.O.) in March. The average high is 71 and the low 52. The worst part of March is that the average rainfall is over 5 inches. Many of the hotels in N.O. have inside pools. If someone in your party wants to swim, I would just find an indoor pool.

If you really want to swim, then I suggest you get a hotel with an indoor pool or outdoor heated pool. Temperatures aren't high enough yet to get the water warm enough for swimming (at least I like my water warm :-) so I may be the exception).

It's not warm enough at that time probably, but I suggest you to find an hotel in the Frech Quarter with outdoor heated pool; a few have it on the roof: it's great!
