I have to drive by car to the newark airport and arrive by 730pm for an international flight. What time should I leave New Haven?
This is a 93 Mile trip and you have to do a Hudson Crossing and will be traveling at rush hour -- so the latest I would leave would be 5:30 PM and 5:00 would be safer. Also, DO NOT take I 95 to GWB! Take the Merrit Parkway to 287 West to Sprain Brook South to Cross County West to Saw Mill/Henry Hudson to GWB. You are going to have traffic no matter what, you are going at the worst possible time, but the route I recommend avoids delays around Norwalk, Stamford, Bottleneck after Coop City and follows my 1# rule of driving in NYC area -- Never drive on the Cross Bronx Expressway!
