Cabins and swimming in New Hampshire

My husband and I are planning a 4 night 3 day stay at New Hampshire. We would like to do some moderate hiking in the White Mountains area, but would like to find some good lakes/waterfalls to swim. Any recommendations on rustic cabins (cheap/scenic, preferably!) to stay in and good hiking spots would be greatly appreciated.
