Hi, We are 4 friends on their mid-thirties who are planning to do the Golden triangle (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur). We are looking for a very good company organising this tour, including the transport among the cities so that to show us the nice spots on the way. We are not looking for a private tour, but to be with other people in the group (preferably people of our age, or at least not families). We heard Trinetra is good but they don't reply to our e-mails. Is there any company you could recommend us? Many thanks for the advice.

Hi, I'm at the moment in New Delhi. I would like to leave Delhi tomorow to visit Rajasthan. I seems not to be easy to leave the city on your own and for example just book a trainticket to the next destination. 4 travelagencies recommend a private driver with car... Is it a good price: About 500 euro for 14 days Rajasthan (included: car, driver, fuell, taxes) ? Are there any other, cheaer options, without risking to be stuck in a city because there is no onward transport? Thank you!! Namaste! Vvdp
I am staying at the Shangri La Eros Hotel on Ashoka Rd in November for a few nights on business. I have been once before but had very little time and managed only a quick couple of sorties - to the Tibetan Market, the area around the parliment, Connaught Place, Cottage industries cooperative shop and the jantar mantar and India Gate. I am a woman who is travelling alone and would like recommendations for things to see or good areas for buying local handicrafts as gifts, fairly close to the hotel. Can anyone advise? I wont have time to travel far and have found walking around alone I get rather hassled and mis-directed. Thank you.
we will be in Delhi for the grand Prix this year. How easy is it to get to the airport from The city and is it possible to buy a ticket on the gate or shod I buy in advance
Good morning all, I am landing at 8pm on a Thursday and departing at 1pm next day. Staying at Radisson Blu and wanted to know if I have enough time to try and enjoy nightlife and pick up a few things. 1. How far is the gateway from the airport hotel? Will I be able to make it there and back for my flight without any issues/traffic. 2. I would like to know if any nightclubs will be open at night to enjoy some local culture/music. 3. Where can I pick up latest bollywood mixes music/movies/souveniers. Airport charges too much so I was hoping to find something in the area maybe around 8am-10am. Feel free to message me with any advice/tips too. Thank you!
Good morning all, I am going to New Deli for one night and wanted to see if there was anything worth doing. I am landing at 8:15pm on a Thursday and flying out the next day around 1pm. Is there a shuttle to the hotel since it is close. What time does the restaurants/night clubs close in the area? Should I exhcange currency at airport or at the hotel if I need any at all. Thank you.

Hi all, My husband and I are planning a trip up for 8D/7N to New Delhi on last week of Sept, and we have a couple of questions: Found an agent (Caper Travel) who suggested Delhi-Jaipur-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra-Varanasi-Delhi. Includes a train ride from Agra to Varanasi. - Is the above itinerary good, or are some places not worth going? (We are pretty adventurous so happy to explore "off the beaten track" too) - I would like to take a train (even overnight train, if conditions are really nice), any suggestions? - If we choose not to take a guide for the whole trip, can we find a local guide at each of the cities? Will it be difficult to find/arrange our own transport to the various cities? - Any "must try" experiences for this area?

Hi, Can anyone help me with our plans for holiday in India. We have abt 1.5 weeks. We thought of 2 days in Delhi and a few days in Bodhgaya, Lumbani, Varanasi, Sravahthi, Ganges river. Should we rent a car or drive ourselves? Should we pay for a guide to travel with us? Should we take a train? Thanks.
Hi there, I'm intending to visit Laos in December, and am currently in India. As it costs a fortune to fly directly, I intend to fly to Bangkok and then get the train. However, due to the new visa regulations, I can't get a visa on arrival for Thailand as they won't accept a land-exit ticket as 'proof of exit'. So my only option is to get a tourist visa in advance, in India. In fact, I'll be going back to Thailand afterwards, so it'll need to be a multiple entry Non-Immigrant visa. (Or asking for a specific number of entries on the Tourist visa application form... if that's what I"m supposed to do... it's not really clear!) All very painful and seems a bit unnecessary! Anyway, has anyone had any previous experience of applying for such a visa in New Delhi? I wasn't intending to spend more than a few days there, and it's unclear quite how complicated the process is going to be (or if I can just get a travel agency to do it for me, which is how I got my Indian visa in Nepal). I've obtained most of my information from here - http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/ - but a lot of things aren't completely clear, so I'd really appreciate anyone's firsthand knowledge. Any help much appreciated. Thank you very much, Andrew

Hi, I'm travelling to Delhi in a month or so and i've heard horror stories regarding inflation and such... I'm travelling for 3 weeks and my basic aim is to go shopping, party at night clubs and eat amazing local food... So, for that purpose in mind i'm carrying Rs. 60,000. Will that be enough to shop at places that are ethnic and local ..(no brand names ofcourse, I could find that here in Canada)... looking for local handicrafts, fabrics and cheap cotton clothes... Having said that for a 3 week trip, is that sufficient cash with the escalating prices and inflation rates in India?? Thanks any help would be great :)
Hi there, I will be traveling to Delhi on Diwali 26 Oct'11. My questions are as follow: 1. Will the markets and malls open on that day, and if yes what are the operating hours? 2. Will it be easy to get by using public transport on that day? 3. Sarojini market - my friend recommends this market for shopping of fabrics, curtains and clothes. Is it worth checking? 4. Metalica: has anyone outside India tried to purchase tickets online? If yes, where do you collect the tickets? the website prompts user to click "courier" and insist on filling up address. 5. Lady Gaga concert: How and where can we buy the tickets online??? I am so looking forward to this trip. I'm hoping that I can enjoy India's attractions and shop at the same time. The only problem is that I'm only free on Diwali (Wednesday & Thursday) :( Hope to hear from you guys... I thank you in advance. Regards,
I am staying a few days in last week of Nov. I am a business traveller and wont have much time. I am interested in any recommendations as to what I could do/see within walking distance (1-2 miles) of the Shangri La Eros Hotel. I wont have much time a few hours here or there, maybe a half day too. I am travelling alone (female). Interested in temples/gardens/markets/just experiencing something of New Delhi. Would welcome any suggestions as to what to see (besides the India Gate) and also how safe for a woman to walk around along in day light hours. Many thanks, Sam
